Thermostats
The Thermostat Recovery Program (TRP) is a designated stewardship program focused on recovering and recycling thermostats that are no longer in use across Canada. The TRP program accepts mercury-containing, electronic and mechanical thermostats to ensure that all components, especially the mercury, are kept out of the waste stream. Thermostats are defined as products that use switches to sense and control room temperature through communication with heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. The program is fully administered by the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) on behalf of the thermostat manufacturers.
Products Accepted:
Mercury-Containing, Electronic and Mechanical Thermostats
